Growing up in small town Kansas, I was raised a Royals fan and I have proudly passed on that fandom to our children. Both of our boys attended Royals games as infants and there is something incredibly special about cheering on our Royals in our hometown that we love so much!
I still get chills of excitement as the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber flies overhead at The K and I watch all of the joy and excitement through my kids’ eyes at home games. In our world of hustle and bustle, the nostalgia of baseball and those special family moments make each game we get to attend feel just as special as the last. Of course some moments will be forever part of our memories. We were in the stands for the 2014 AL Wild Card game, which was my youngest son’s first Royals game. He was only 10-months old. He plays competitive baseball now at age 8 and I can’t help but think our love for the Royals and those special moments may have fueled that baseball love in his little heart.

I still remember one day pushing my double stroller across the parking lot of Kauffman Stadium to buy tickets and an SUV stopped to let us pass. As I waved a thank you, I saw it was none other than Salvador Perez. My delight showed on my face and a quick flailing arm display and his motioning me over allowed us to snap this photo to remember that moment. Salvy even directed a photographer who ran our way to use my cell phone to take the photo because I had my arms full holding my kiddos. My son now proudly requests number 13 for his youth baseball team.

And then there was the Scout Night at The K where an Alex Gordon ball came sailing way up into the upper deck and my then 7-year-old snagged it off the bounce and his face lit up into the happiest smile I’ve ever seen. What a story he got to show and tell at school the next day.
From those little moments to joining the thousands upon thousands to show our Royals love at the World Series parade, this is why we are #TogetherRoyal and so proud to have the opportunity to partner with the Kansas City Royals to share our story and hopefully encourage other families to get out and make these memories in our great city.

To kick-off the Royals 2022 season, our family stopped by the Royals Team Store at Kauffman Stadium for a photo opp with the Parade of Hearts Royals heart and to get our new gear to proudly #bringouttheblue on the first day of each homestand this season.

Opening Day at Kauffman Stadium 2022 gave us a whole new batch of memories including a standing ovation for Bobby Witt Jr., Zack Greinke’s return, a mix of midwest weather and more joy and smiles in the Little K than I can count. We arrived as the gates opened so we could enjoy everything the kid-friendly Outfield Experience has to offer including batting cages, pitching, mini golf and a carousel ride. Our visit to The K would never be complete without heading back out to the Outfield Experience for a photo with Sluggerrr in the 4th inning.
